Ultra-Wideband, Differential-Mode Bandpass Filters with Four Coupled Lines Embedded in Self-Complementary Antennas

چکیده
A design method for an ultra-wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with four coupled lines has been developed. For demonstration purposes, 50Ω-matched self-complementary antennas integrated with the ultra-wideband, differential-mode BPF with four coupled lines, a notch filter, and a low-pass filter (LPF) were prepared and tested. An optimized structure for a single-stage, broadside-coupled and edge-coupled four-lines BPF was shown to exhibit up to 170% fractional bandwidth and an impedance transformation ratio of 1.2 with little bandwidth reduction, both analytically and experimentally. Using the optimized structure, 6stage BPFs were designed to transform the self-complementary antenna’s constant input impedance (60πε−1/2 e (Ω)) to 50Ω without degrading bandwidth. In addition, two types of filter variations — a LPF-embedded BPF and a notch filter-embedded BPF — were designed and fabricated. The measured insertion loss of both filter systems was less than 2.6 dB over the ultra-wideband (UWB) band from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. The filter systems were embedded in the wideband self-complementary antennas to reject unnecessary radiation over the next pass band and 5-GHz wireless LAN band. key words: differential mode, antennas, band-pass filters, notch filters, low-pass filters, impedance transformer

A Compact Ultra-Wideband Bandpass Filter with Sharp-Rejection using Complementary Split Ring Resonators
A compact and sharp-rejection ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip band-pass filter (BPF) is developed using of left handed metamaterials realized by complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). Moreover, proposed structure consists of two doublets parallel coupling gaps at each side of a microstrip ring. In comparison with some other filters, this structure shows a significantly wider passband due to...

A compact and sharp rejection UWB microstrip bandpass filter is developed using left handed metamaterials. For realizing a backward-wave propagation medium, two split ring resonator (CSRR) in the back substrate side and also one series capacitor etched in the host line, are used to produce a negative effective ε and μ, simultaneously. Moreover, in the proposed structure, two doublets parallel c...
متن کاملA Compact UWB Bandpass Filter with High Selectivity and Dual Notched-Band
A novel compact-sized ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed in this paper. The proposed BPF is highly selective and is able to eliminate WLAN signals from 5.15-5.35 GHz, and downlink of X-band satellite communication signals from 7.25-7.75 GHz. Generally, a multiple-mode resonator (MMR), comprised of a U-shaped line, with two high impedance stubs connected to it, and one steppe...

This paper presents a new ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with sharp roll-off and dual-notched bands. The filter consists of a triangle ring multi-mode resonator (MMR) with the stub-loaded resonator (SLR) for controlling the two transmission zeros at 2.8 / 11 GHz, the embedded open-circuited stub and the asymmetric tight coupled input/output (I/O) lines for introducing the dual notch...
متن کاملUltra-Wideband (UWB) Microstrip Bandpass Filter with an Improved Wide Stopband
— In this paper, the ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with a wide stopband is presented. The prototype of proposed UWB BPF is by bending the five short-circuited stubs and coupling the I/O feed lines. In order to have a wide stopband, an bandstop structure embedded in input/output (I/O) lines without degrading the passband performances is used. The measured results verified that by us...
